When Does Sonos Audition?

Sonos auditions interested musicians year-round, either locally in the San Francisco area or at a tour location.

How do  auditions work?

Sonos auditions each applicant individually, not as a group. Sonos auditions generally require you to:
  1. Prepare a video of you performing ringing and rhythmic exercises that we send you.
  2. Participate in a rehearsal where you will play with the rest of Sonos and may play some additional sight-reading exercises.

What's the Commitment?

Sonos is currently oriented around events, like a tour, a recording, or a series of local concerts. In general, applicants are expected to commit to an upcoming event, which typically includes all of the rehearsals and the actual event dates.

How often are spots open?

Sonos typically performs with 13 musicians, and we frequently have openings. Even if no spots are available, we want to give all capable musicians a chance to be part of the group, whether that means subbing in for absent musicians during rehearsals or playing an auxiliary instrument during performances. There are always opportunities available.
